Ambassador to Turkey Francis Ricciardone has said the United States had faith in Turkey's democracy.
The senior U.S. diplomat in Turkey said the U.S. Embassy was in contact with Turkish leaders and opposition, and would continue to do so.
The United States was supporting Turkey's democracy and had faith in the country's democracy, Ricciardone told reporters in the Aegean province of Izmir.
Ricciardone said the United States was aware that Turkish democracy was robust and successful and expected that Turkey would be stronger and more successful.
The ambassador also said Turkey's success was important as the two countries were allies.
